This Christmas has been a challenging time for all of us and Covid-19 controls, although necessary, have restricted the traditional Christmas gatherings of friends and families which are necessary to feel valued as part of the family.

I always enjoy meeting our customers when they visit us but I have found it embarrassing not to be allowed to offer our traditional hospitality, and being threatened with prosecution if we allow our customers to sit down inside or outside the shop; not to be able to offer a chair to someone who needs it I find totally unacceptable.

Your kind comments on the levels of service and quality of our products is very much appreciated.

This year we have expanded our delivery service for our customers who cannot visit us and Tracey on 01582 872001 will be pleased to tell you when we are in your area. The list of benefits for our FFWS members will continue. The choice of Christmas meat and wine will continue as it has been much appreciated.

This year, we are looking to hold a craft fair this autumn and a summer garden party for members but these are subject to Covid-19 controls at the time. From July 2021 we are planning to extend the use of our Oak Lounge, not just providing coffee and modest refreshments but to provide evenings and weekends for parties.

A new service will be offered which will be for retrospective wakes for celebrating the life of loved ones which have been prevented from being celebrated at the time of the funeral. It is our intention to see how we can provide additional services and support.

Your support to us in 2020 has been appreciated by all of our team and we look forward to being of service to you in 2021.

As I came into work today I noticed that our daffodils are now clear of the ground which reminds us that spring is on its way.

With my best wishes to you and your families a healthy and happy new year.
