Here at Harpers we are very fortunate to have a dedicated functions and events hall, the Oak Room. The Harpers name and reputation has been built on a strong foundation of always offering the very best of food, produce and beverages, so it was inevitable that when we moved to our new space in Pepperstock we would continue to offer our hospitality in the form of catering at events and special occasions held in our Oak Room. The Oak Room is a firm favourite, especially with locals, for all sorts of special occasions and celebrations, including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, wakes and social occasions.
However, it seemed such a shame that this wonderful room with its wide open views through bi-fold doors, soft ambient lighting and spacious table settings to allow free movement and privacy when needed was generally empty during the day, and our regular visitors did not have an opportunity to enjoy this setting, unless they were a part of a private booking.
Now, if you know Peter (and most of you readers probably do!), the fact that more of you could not normally use the space was not lost on him, and together with the Harpers Team, he set about thinking of ideas to make the Oak Room accessible to all, and so Harpers Oak Room Lunches were created in January 2018, with the added benefit of table service, so that you can relax whilst we look after you and your needs.
Now, anyone can dine in the Oak Room between 11.30am to 2.30pm daily, selecting items from the Coffee Shop menu, or from the specially created Oak Room menu, where you can choose from a great selection of hot lunches. From a simple jacket potato, a filling lasagne or a special steak lunch, we’ve got something for everyone, whatever their appetite!
We’ve also got an extensive ‘Fish Fridays’ menu with firm favourites such as a classic prawn cocktail and hand beer-battered cod and chips, as well as seasonal specials to surprise you!
For our Fine Food & Wine Society members, you are very welcome to enjoy one of your membership benefits of free tea or filter coffee with biscuits in the Oak Room too.
If lunch isn’t your cup of tea, then come in for…tea! Well, vintage afternoon tea to be precise! What could be more relaxing than a beautiful setting, attentive service and the most delicious freshly made scones, savouries and patisseries, served on our vintage crockery?
We don’t just want you to take our word for it, if you haven’t already then visit us soon and taste all we have to offer for yourself! As an extra ‘thank you’ from us to everyone visiting up to 31st July 2018, every person having lunch in the Oak Room will be entitled to finish their meal with a complimentary filter coffee or tea – so join us soon!
