Harpers 60th Birthday & Anniversary!

13 May 2018

It’s Celebration Time At Harpers!

Why do celebrations mean so much to people? We are after all social beings, and as we go through a lifetime of experiences, work, family, responsibilities, successes, and failures, we realise the importance of pausing for a moment and celebrating the highlights in our lives that mean so much. We reckon celebrations have probably been around for as long as humans have! We know that our ancestors celebrated the new moon, the season’s harvest, the birth of a child, the arrival of the rainy season, the coming of age, a wedding, the list goes on…

Harpers Food 60th Celebrations

Here at Harpers, we are no different, we love a good celebration, and 2018 really is a very special year – Sally and Peter Harper will be celebrating 60 years of wonderful marriage this June and it’s also 60 years since Peter’s father, Tom, first set up T. Harper & Son. From its early beginnings as a farm and butchers to today, with a thriving Food Hall, the wonderful Oak Room for events and a business that employs over 30 employees, Harpers Foods is very much a part of the scenery in Pepperstock, in its new, purpose-built home since 2014.

The Harpers currently have three generations of the family working within the business, but the real Harpers family are all the wonderful members of staff that work so well together and of course the many customers over the years who have become such good friends – the Harpers 60 years celebrations is about all the people that have made it possible to reach this incredible milestone.

Enough history, let’s enjoy the present and continue into the future! We’ve got a fun-packed June planned ahead, and our extra-special Celebration Days will run from Thursday 14 June to Sunday 17 June, 11.30am to 2pm, when we will have lots of delicious treats in the Coffee Shop and Oak Room for you to enjoy!  We’re going to make 2018 a vintage year to remember for a very long time; do come and join us!
