Quality Assured Meat
We are members of the English Quality Standard Farm Assured Meat, and are registered under the Freedom Food (RSPCA’s farm assurance and food labelling scheme) label.
Our meat, poultry & game defines the standards of today. Meat quality is our priority, and therefore all our British meat comes from only the most supreme animal, chosen at the right age to provide tender, lean, meat with little waste.
At Harpers we take great care to ensure the welfare and traceability of all our produce is of the highest standard. It is important to us, and to you our customers, to know where your food comes from. Animals need to be identifiable and traceable back to their farms of origin, as well as being moved in clean vehicles – so beef and lamb produced is free from contamination and safe to eat. As members of FABBL & BBEX Quality Standard Schemes, we comply with their strict specification for us to supply quality meat.
St. Edmondsbury Purse
To help celebrate St. Edmund’s birthday on 20th November, customers and visitors can enjoy the experience of this ‘famous steak’ known as St. Edmundsbury Purse, made with our finest English beef and delicious farmhouse cheese.
Barwell Foods, our own farm, produces the most tender, lean beef with no waste and quick to cook. To help keep the steak succulent, we recommend cooking in a pan with a little oil or butter. Cook your steak 1-3 minutes each side depending on how you like your steak.
At just £22/kg (£9.97/lb) the average steak price is just £6 – a meal fit for a king, or saint!
